Things To Do: Whangarei Heads

 

 

There are plenty of options available to you whether you are staying at Whangarei Heads,in nearby Whangarei or simply touring Northland. The following list is  just an indication of what you might choose to do  almost without leaving the peninsula! In some cases you may need to either bring your own, or hire equipment , but the opportunity is certainly here! The cost varies-many options are free, others  have a significant price-the choice is yours!

Visit Motukiore Island from Parua Bay. Car park to the East of The Pines Golf Course. Walk at low tide.

Visit The Local Community Library:  

Visit/walk to the Whangarei Heads Community Library, in the Whangarei Heads School grounds.. Follow the library signs down the school drive to see this beautiful old solid kauri building. The library is open for all during school hours, and from 10:00am – 12:00 on Saturdays and during school holidays.

Holiday makers renting baches or camping in the area are welcome to become members of the library and borrow books; membership is free and they do not charge fines when overdue books are returned late.

 

After all of that, you will probably need some refreshment! How about:

Fish and Chips, an ice cream or just enjoy a good coffee at The Deck Cafe, McLeod Bay
